My objective in this writing is to show how I believe my 2nd great-grandmother, Elizabeth Hollingsworth (b.1808) is related to Valentine hollingsworth (b.1632)

Elizabeth Hollingsworth Wellington died  4 May 1867 in Madison County, Indiana.  She and her husband, William Wellington, are buried in the Music (Muzick) Cemetery, Madison Co., Indiana.

Elizabeth was born August 1808 in Pennsylvania.  She is listed in the 1850 U.S. Census, Indiana, Grant County, family #144 in
which she is 42 years old.  That census shows her with her husband, William Wellington and their six children.  Elizabeth, husband,  William and the oldest child, Valariah are all born in Pennsylvania.  Three of the children were born in Ohio and the two youngest children were born in Indiana.

The 1840 U.S. Census lists William Wellington and his family in Hudson Township, Summit County, Ohio. In the 1840 U.S. Census, listed six families above the William Wellington family, is a William Hollingsworth family.  The listed children and wife fit the ages of the William Hollingsworth and Lucinda Burgess Hollingsworth family.  This William Hollingsworth is a brother of Elizabeth Hollingsworth Wellington.

William and Lucinda Hollingsworth were still living in Grant County, Indiana in the 18880 census.  William Hollingsworth dies
in 1888 in Grant County, Indiana.

Elizabeth Hollingsworth married William Wellington about 1830, probably in Pennsylvania.  This is based on the previously
mentioned 1850 U.S. census.  The oldest child of Elizabeth and William Wellington is 19 year old Valariah, born in PA.

Parents of Elizabeth Hollingsworth are listed on page 723 of The History of Grant County, Indiana by Brant and Fuller,
published 1886 in Chicago.  The parents of Elizabeth are William Hollingsworth (b1776) and Hannah White.

The above reference on page 723 includes "...son, William, is one of the five children of William Hollingsworth and Hannah
White.  The son, William, was born 25 July 1811 in Chester County, Pennsylvania."

William Hollingsworth and Hannah White were married 10 April 1800 per page 77 of The History of The Harlan Family (Book
#929.273 H226h , also on film #0962835.  Both the book and the film are on file in the Family History Library LDS in
Salt Lake City, Utah).

William and Hannah were probaby married in Chester County, PA.  Page 77 previously mentioned lists the parents and
siblings of Hannah White as living in Kennet Township, Chester County, PA.

Page 723 of The History of Grant County, IN published by Brant and Fuller says that William Hollingsworth, husband of Hannah White, moved from PA to Madison County, IN.  And that William did in 1812 and that Hannah died in 1837.

A fellow researcher advised me in the 1980's that William Hollingsworth and wife, Hannah are buried in the Muzick Cemetery, Madison Co., Indiana.  No definite proof was provided.  I have been unsuccessful in locating their burial spots.

It is true that their daughter, Elizabeth, and her husband, William Wellington, are buried in the Muzick Cemetery.  The
cemetery has many broken stones and records less than adequate.

Based on information shared with me by Doug Hollingsworth I believe that William Hollingsworth, husband of Hannah
White, is the son of Christopher Hollingsworth and wife, Sarah (Smith) Webb.
I also believe that William Hollingsworth (b.1776) was born in Pennsylvania.  (See page 99 of The History of The Harlan Family.)

Additional information from Dough Hollingsworth is as follows:
-Christopher Hollingsworth, father of Wm born 1776,  is the son of Thomas Hollingsworth (b.1661) & Judith Lampley.
-Thomas (b.1698) is the son of Thomas (1661) and Margaret Calvert.
-Thomas (b.1661) is the son of Valentine Hollingsworth (b.1632) and Catherine Cornish.

And this is why I believe that my Elizabeth Hollingsworth and her brothers, Joseph and William are the connection to theValentine Hollinsworth family in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
