Jack A. Hollingsworth, Jr.


Jack A. Hollingsworth, Jr. of El Campo died July 15, 2012 at the age of 85. He was born June 15, 1927 in Yoakum to the late Jack A. and Hazel Wilson Hollingsworth. He was a life-long employee of Southern Pacific Railroad as a station agent and dispatcher and was founder and former owner of Hoagie Lures. He had served in the US Army, and was a member of the El Campo Masonic Lodge #98, past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, past president of El Campo Little League; and past Master of Boy Scout Troop #833.
He is survived by his wife Nora Clark Hollingsworth; daughter Nora Leigh Borak and husband Calvin, son Robert C. Hollingsworth, all of El Campo; grandchildren Dagny Thane, Chad A Hollingsworth and Milton Zaiontz III; great-grandchildren Sarah and Landon Thane; sister Nora Darilek and husband Oscar of Auburn, CA, brother-in-law David Clark of Aransas Pass; and nephew and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Lou Otto.
The memorial service for Jack A. Hollingsworth will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the First Lutheran Church with Rev. Andy Taylor officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to First Lutheran Church or Houston Hospice-El Campo.
