Pearl McQueen Hollingsworth


Pearl McQueen Hollingsworth, 87, of Four Mile Road, Richmond, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011 at the Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center. Pearl was born November 1, 1923, in Richmond, the daughter of the late Albert and Ollie V. McQueen. Her husband of 67 years, Harold Hollingsworth, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Cleoves and John McQueen and two sisters, Ethel Wall and Belle McQueen.
She is survived by one daughter, Karen (Charles) Reece; a son, Jerry (Peggy) Hollingsworth, all of Richmond; three grandsons, Shane and Chad Reece, Richmond and David Hollingsworth, Lexington; an honorary granddaughter, Lisa (Jeff) Culton, Richmond; one sister, Katherine (Leonard) Christian, Paris, KY; a brother-in-law, Haskell (Ann) Hollingsworth, Montgomery County and several nieces and nephews.
She was a life-long member of the Christian faith and taught Bible school and Sunday school for many years. She was a member of Madison Hills Christian Church.
Services for Pearl Hollingsworth will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Larry Oetzel officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Wednesday until service time.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
