Rev. Ralph G. Hollingsworth


Rev. Ralph G. Hollingsworth, Sr., age 92, of Newcomerstown, passed away and joined his Heavenly Father and his wife on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Riverside Manor Rehabilitation Center in Newcomerstown. He was born on June 8, 1922 in Guernsey County, OH to the late Roscoe and Blanche (George) Hollingsworth. 

Ralph was a 1938 Madison High School graduate, and he later graduated from Mt. Union College in 1951 and Garrett Seminary in 1953. He served as a WWII United States Army medic in the Aleutian Islands. Rev. Hollingsworth, along with his wife, started serving Methodist churches in the 1950's, which included Kirkpatrick, Claridon, Roscoe, Millersburg and Cortland; all in Ohio. In 1985, Rev. Hollingsworth retired after serving for 32 years as a United Methodist Minister. He enjoyed traveling and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ida (Marty) Hollingsworth, who passed away December 10, 2008; a daughter-in-law, Andrea Kay (Wells) Hollingsworth; and a sister, Anna Mae Harper.

Rev. Hollingsworth is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Ralph (Linda) Hollingsworth of Eugene Oregon, David Hollingsworth of Coshocton; grandchildren, Matt (Carrie) Hollingsworth and Andy (Sherry) Hollingsworth; great grandchildren, Douglas (Brenda) Hollingsworth, Kaitlyn (Donovan) Philmon and Cassie Hollingsworth.

Funeral services celebrating Rev. Hollingsworth's life will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Roscoe United Methodist Church with Pastor Dale Sutton officiating. Calling hours will be 5:00 - 7:00 Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Roscoe Untied Methodist Church and one hour prior to the services. Interment will take place at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
