Bonnie H. Mackey
Services for Bonnie H. Mackey, 75, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2007 in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Donald F. West, interment will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mackey, widow of John B. Mackey, Sr. to whom she was married for more than fifty years, of Springdale, died on Monday, April 9, 2007 at Lexington Medical Center, after an extended illness.
Mrs. Mackey was born in Greenville, on August 28, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Earl and Evie Reece Hollingsworth. Mrs. Mackey was preceded in death by one sister Cornelia H. Tooley, and two brothers, Clarence E. Hollingsworth, Jr. and Wallace R. Hollingsworth.
Surviving are her sons, John B. Mackey, Jr. of West Columbia, David Mackey and his wife, Jennifer McWhite-Mackey of Gaston; a granddaughter, Leigh Mackey James, and her husband, Bobby, with their daughters, Jessica, Kailey, and Annelise, of West Columbia; two grandsons, John Paul Mackey, and his wife, Tess, with their daughter Dharma, stationed in Japan; and Josh Williams of Winston- Salem, NC; brother, Charles Milton Hollingsworth, and his wife Faye, of West Columbia. A diligent homemaker, loving family member, and loyal friend and neighbor, she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins, as well as friends and neighbors who will greatly miss her. www.thompsonsfuneral.com
