Elaine Hollingsworth Warrick
Elaine Hollingsworth Warrick, age 83, of Rupert, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Rosetta Assisted Living in Burley, with her family at her side. Her passing rejoined her with her recently deceased husband, Oliver, whom she affectionately called “honey-bun.”
Elaine was born on June 3, 1930, in Preston, Idaho, the daughter of Lloyd and Esther Christina (Peterson) Hollingsworth. She attended school in Preston and completed her education at Preston High School. She married Oliver Carlson Warrick on March 8, 1947, in Preston, Idaho. They farmed with Oliver’s father in Preston prior to living in Seattle, Wash., with the railroad. After a short time working with the railroad, they returned to Preston where they again farmed with Oliver’s father. In 1953, she and Oliver drew a homestead on the Northside Project of Rupert and they spent the remainder of their life doing what they loved and did best – farming. Elaine also worked at the J.R. Simplot Company for a period of ten years. Although she worked hard, farming alongside her husband, Oliver, her life was defined as a loving mother and grandmother. She was very passionate about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her children, Craig Warrick (DeAnn) of Nampa, Idaho, Linda Baer of Maryville, Tenn., and Gary Warrick (Vicki) of Hooper, Utah; 11 grandchildren, Brian Warrick (Wendy) of Nampa, Idaho, Jennifer Montgomery (Schyler) of Kaysville, Utah, Michelle (Nathan) Williamson of Pocatello, Idaho, Kathryn Ballestero (Eric) of Burley, Idaho, Tyler Warrick of Caldwell, Idaho, Marc Baer of Maryville, Tenn., Nicolette Turner (Mark) of Louisville, Ky., Jeremy Warrick of Roy, Utah, Nick Warrick (Jenna) of South Jordan, Utah, Jeff Warrick (Mary) of Syracuse, Utah, and Lance Warrick of Woods Cross, Utah; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd Hollingsworth; and a sister, Norma Waters
